Captain Wilson returns in his fifth adventure, which brings a new form of danger for himself and his island hometown. His career is threatened by an old enemy who’s out for revenge, and meanwhile, “Fernandina’s Finest” have to figure out what’s going on with the secretive bunch of strangers occupying an old house. Could it be that a plot against national security is being hatched right here? The Pelican of Fernandina, like the rest of the Wilson Mystery series, takes place against the background of the quirky, Florida seaport of Fernandina Beach. This time, as the captain struggles against a wily adversary, he finds that an enigmatic pelican has perched in his territory, apparently to provide support in Wilson’s troubles. Come along and join the Fernandina crew as they deal with local characters and federal law officers on a mission, while stalking the bad guys through this restored Victorian town, a famous African-American beach, and an antebellum fort to an explosive finale involving 21st-century national defense. If you haven’t gotten acquainted with this addictive series yet, now is the time to start!
